Funds raised from the British Asbestos Awards

Asbestos Hub recently hosted the 2024 British Demolition & Asbestos Awards, where Mesothelioma UK’s CEO, Liz Darlison, was honoured with induction into the Demolition Hall of Fame as an Asbestos Pioneer. The awards ceremony not only celebrated achievements within the industry, but also aimed to support Mesothelioma UK through its annual charity auction.

The British Demolition & Asbestos Awards feature an annual charity auction, enabling industry leaders to support causes like Mesothelioma UK. Held during the ceremony, the auction offers unique items and experiences, with all proceeds benefiting charity, showcasing the industry’s commitment to giving back.

This year’s auction raised £582.25, contributing valuable funds to Mesothelioma UK’s ongoing mission. Each pound raised helps provide essential support, advocacy, and research for those affected by mesothelioma, making a real difference in the lives of patients and families across the UK.

Liz Darlison, Chief Executive of Mesothelioma UK, expressed her gratitude:

“We are immensely thankful to everyone who bid in the charity auction, and we extend special thanks to the British Demolition & Asbestos Awards for providing a platform to reach new audiences. The event offered fantastic exposure for Mesothelioma UK, helping us to raise awareness and strengthen our mission.”

Beverley Chambers, Event Manager of the British Demolition & Asbestos Awards, shared her enthusiasm for the evening’s success: “We’re thrilled to celebrate another fantastic year for the British Demolition & Asbestos Awards in our sixth event. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to the auction, helping to raise funds for Mesothelioma UK. Your generosity makes a real difference and we are immensely grateful.”
