Today (November 21) marks one year since the passing of Mavis Nye, a tireless campaigner and advocate for mesothelioma awareness. Her friends, supporters, and those whose lives were touched by her dedication gathered this morning at 11:00am in Room at Westminster Hall, to celebrate her life and enduring legacy.
The event was hosted by Julia Buckley MP and provided a chance to share stories, take photos, and reflect on the incredible impact Mavis had on so many.
Known for her courage, warmth, and commitment to raising awareness of asbestos-related illnesses, Mavis's memory continues to inspire both activism and compassion. Her advocacy has left an indelible mark on healthcare policy and on the lives of countless individuals across the UK.
Ray, Mavis's husband, unfortunately, cannot attend due to health reasons, but he sen send a message that was read by UKATA COO Craig Evans. His words expressed the profound personal and shared loss we all feel since Mavis's passing.
